The Role

Our Associate Design Directors are responsible for leading the various teams independently on client projects whilst imparting savvy Interior industry knowledge and expertise to the in-house design team, in order to deliver successful projects on time and on budget. They are experienced in developing projects from concept to fruition displaying strong relevant skill sets in managing design deliverables in line with the Project Brief, as well as the ability to work closely with upper management in defining initiatives whilst providing clear direction to the design and drafting teams at each and every stage of the process. 

 

Key Responsibilities  

• Significant portion of the job involves leading, directing, coordinating activities of the team and motivating them.

• Profit & Loss Accountability, working closely with upper management on top-line and profitability of the company.

• Offering leadership, clear guidance and feedback on a regular basis to ensure quality results.

• Staffing and scheduling projections for the team.

• Working directly with Marketing Department and Management to develop major business initiatives. 

• Working closely with the partners-in-charge regarding interior design leads/direction.

• Recruitment and retention - conducting interviews and appraisals with support from the upper management.

• Serving as the primary contact with clients, or consultants  supporting others where required.

• Responsible for being the first officer to vet the term sheets of the contract where design development is concerned.

• Maintaining involvement and ensuring quality control in all phases of interior architecture projects and their management.

• Evaluating the progress of projects and vetting project design goals.

• Determining standards for project development.

• Acting as Mentor and Manager of the teams managed. Arranging mentorship and training, inspiring new trends and concepts, materials. Motivating and training team members and monitoring their career and training paths.

• Allocating accounts amongst team members.

• Handling dispute resolutions professionally amongst team members, external clients, if any.

Requirements

Min. 8 years experience in residential, commercial and consultancy
Proficiency in Autocad or 3D Max, able to do manual/hand drawing and sketches, perspective and detailing knowledge 
Possess leadership qualities to manage a team of designers
